Vinayagar Chathurthi

Edited to Add: (Sep 18th 2010) I am submitting this for artsy craftsy september, as the theme for this month decorations and celebrations and the items has to be hand-made. So, adding the artsy-craftsy logo and the link to this post and submitting the hand-made Ganesha statue for the contest.

Ganesh Chathurthi is nearing and every nook and corner of the city is in celebration mood. So are the kids. This being a long weekend, the kids had their celebrations at school today itself. They have been telling me for the past 2 days that they have made a ganesha statue themselves with clay.  And that they will do the pooja and bring it home today. I didn’t believe until i saw them bring their Ganesha home.

The one in the left was made by Oviya and the one in the right side by Panimalar. Everyone at home were thrilled by their work. And the kids have more plans about the celebration this saturday. I will update about them later.  Happy Vinayagar Chathurthi to one and all.
